Step 3: How to coupon like a pro....Choosing your organization method!!!

My Couponing Equipment

Okay, let me say this first. If you are going to go all out, and become a COUPON DIVA,  you need to do a binder of some sort. If you still want to stay compact I recommend getting a small coupon holder. Whatever you use, the main thing is thing is to find a system that is going to help you get the most out of your coupons. Some people use a ziplock back, others envelopes. I started with the small coupon holder because I was too embarrased to lug around a binder, but I quickly got over that!!!!!! If you know me I am rarely embarrased, so I don't know what I was thinking!!!! Most of this post will be devoted to the binder method, but you still may pick up some pearls of wisdom, SO READ IT ANYWAY!!!!!

  • Choose a binder that will suit your couponing needs. Mine is a 1 1/2 inch binder with baseball card sleeves.

  • Most go with a bigger binder and I may have to move up later, we will just have to wait and see. One person I have spoke with, uses an accordian type binder with various type sleeves (4x6, baseball, and whole pages) here is a photo of that type of set up:

  • Another type is a box type container.

  • If you want small, then go with the one like I use for my coupons that are about to expire.

  • Sort the coupons into categories. I sort according to what makes sense to me and you should do the same. Here are my categories.

      • Deli/Produce- I rarely have coupons here.

      • Bread

      • Coffee/other Beverages

      • Meats

      • Condiments

      • Can/Packaged Foods

      • Breakfast

      • Baking

      • Grains/Pasta/Sauces

      • Cookies/Crackers

      • Snack Foods

      • Frozen

      • Refridgerated

      • Meds

      • Air Freshener

      • Cleaning Products

      • Pets/Batteries (I don't know why but I just put them together, I am soo blonde:)

      • Feminine Products

      • Hair Products

      • Make-up

      • Oral Products

      • Paper Products

      • Plastic and Storage Products

      • Shaving

      • Skin/Facial Products

      • Soap/Deodorant

      • Misc

      • Resturants

      • Walgreens

      • Other stores

Gosh, I didn't realize I had so many sections!!!!! I probably will have to upgrade to a bigger binder afterall!!!

Once you have your organization method down, we need to discuss where to get coupons.....We will discuss this tomorrow because I need to finish watching the SOUND OF MUSIC..... Shut it!!! I know someone is calling me a geek out there but I don't really care!!!!!!!!  So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu!!!!!
